Hotel Château de Vault-de-Lugny is a Luxuriously Restored

Château in the heart of Burgundy
Surrounded by a sleepy grass moat, this château has origins
dating back to the 13th century. It is now sumptuously converted
into an inviting country house hotel and beautifully run as a
family home by the Audans. Vault-de-Lugny enjoys an idyllic setting
in its own 40-acre grounds and is a fine base to explore the serene
“vallée du Cousin” and the highly celebrated
medieval village of Vezelay with its 11th century Romanesque Basilica.
Rooms
Each room is individually decorated with luxurious fine antique
furnishings and tapestry wall coverings for the utmost provision
of day to day comfort. Within the rooms you will find as standard,
refrigerated mini-bars, televisions, telephones and a safe. Upon
request washing and pressing facilities are available. Flowers
are placed in all our standard rooms as well as fruits within
all the deluxe room, suite and junior suites.
Dining and Wine
Breakfast is served between 7:30 AM & 12:00 PM and a complimentary
copy of the Herald Tribune is provided for all our English speaking
guests. Every Saturday, traditional Burgundy aperitifs are served
in the lounge or the garden between 19:30 and 21:00, compliments
of the Château.
At the Château de Vault-de-Lugny dining is always an unusual
gastromic experience. Our Menu de Saison (280 frs) changes daily
and our special Burgundy Menu incorporates typical Burgundy specialities
whilst the Gourmet Menu also provides a fine culinary experience.
Our chef ensures all dishes and pastries are made to order on
the premises and will accommodate any request with pleasure. Although
we produce our own vegetables, fruits, eggs and jam we do not
eat our chickens since we regard them as our pets.
We choose our wines and provide a good choice of excellent Burgundy
and Bordeaux at a reasonable price based upon the quality and
vintage years selected.
Weather permitting dining on the lawns is encouraged. Eating at
our “Tables d'Hôtes” with other guests (only the
residents of the Hotel) always creates an original and friendly
atmosphere. Dining at a separate table is however also available
should you so desire. Room service is also possible.
