Gay Bars

Details :

The Cox Bar

15 Rue des Archives has been the site of a cafe since the 1800's. Today, they continue the century-old traditions of the typical French cafe, updated to maximize the enjoyment of today's gay clientele.

Continuing in the French traditions of hospitalitie and cameraderie with a warm welcome for all of our guests.

Located in the heart of the historic Marais and in the center of "the village", the Cox is difficult to describe. Here, you will find: the most popular gay bar in Paris, a wonderful meeting place, a welcoming friendly staff, great musique playing continuously, a compelling and ever-changing decor, a very busy and at the same time a very welcoming environment, a friendly clientele filled with laughter.

Their staff come from all walks of life. Many members of our staff speak English and other languages as well. No matter what language you speak, you will be a welcomed visitor when you come to the Cox.

Since opening in 1995, the decor, created by notable French designers, has always been remarkable. Drawings by Marc Chan, Sculpture by Frederic Vades, Colours by Om Gud and amazing decors by Nelson Cross have contributed to our ever-changing environment to ensure we are always up to date. Present decorator, Guy Matchoro, changes the Cox from top to bottom with each changing season. New colors, new designs, new lighting, new objects all mean that if you haven't been to the Cox since your last visit to Paris - You haven't seen the Cox!

The musical atmosphere is a vital part of your enjoyment of the COX. Created by in-house DJ, Kevin Only, the music keeps us moving.

Day after day, evening after evening, Happy Hour after Happy Hour, the party never stops at the Cox. We continue the century-old traditions of the typical French cafe, updated to maximize the enjoyment of today's gay clientele. We look forward to your visit.
