French Luxury

The French have been considered across the world as the arbiters of taste and style, since the mid 1660s. Louis XIV was a king with a great eye for style and the luxury industry created to support his penchant for the best of the best however outrageous, and has continued since then and dominated the world of Luxe.

Travelers have come from far and wide to discover and absorb the panache that Paris has offered. It was here that the concept developed for celebrity hairdressers, chic cafes, haute couture and of course gastronomy, which extended beyond the royal court.

Today, 75 companies from the world of luxury and creation continue the luxury tradition and are part of a group called The Comité Colbert.
