Based on the company's two-place Robinson R22, the R44 features hydraulically-assisted flight controls. It is a single-engined helicopter with a semi-rigid two-bladed main rotor and a two-bladed tail rotor and a skid landing gear.
A Robinson R44 Newscopter served as the aerial platform for Dallas Morning News photographer Smiley Pool while he took his Pulitzer Prize winning photographs of hurricane-devastated New Orleans.
Quentin Smith and Steve Brooks have set a milestone for the R44 Raven II helicopter, landing at the South Pole on January 18, 2005, less than three years after their record-setting R44 landing at the North Pole in June of 2002.
Vaux de Cernay Abbey, located in the Chevreuse valley in the Rambouillet forest, is a magical place and the perfect spot to spend a short time with a loved one. Vaux de Cernay abbey was grought back to life through intentive renovation by the Rothschild familly. the cellar was transformed into a music lounge and a gothic lounge with its enormous chimneys, a refectory into a restaurant and re-baptised 'the prayer table', a surprising monastic room with two spanning ridge beams and sandstone capitol columns.
Surrounded by more than eight centuries of history. The former cloister, reading gallery, mill and chapter house have found a new callings. The Cistercians created these magical places blessed by the Church and protected by the Kings of France. St Louis and Margaret of Provenc, Queen of France drank miracle water from the St Thibault fountainto become fertile. The spring is still in the nearby woods and soothes the thirst of guests.
