Champagne

Champagne, the northern-most wine region in France, is an easy 1 1/2 hour drive due east from Paris. You'll discover the great sparkling wines of this famous area by visiting the majestic chalk cellers of two of the major Champagne houses, like Moet et Chandon, Veuve Clicquot, Pommery or Taittinger. A lovely lunch with local wines and a visit to the spectacular Reims Cathedral rounds out a day of gastronomic pleasures.

Sancerre

Sancerre is a lovely area just 1 1/2 hours southwest of Paris. This famous appellation is know for its dry white, rose and red wines made from Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir grapes. You'll visit two of the best wine estates of the area, and enjoy a gourmet lunch as you enjoy the beautiful scenery along your route.

Chablis

Chablis, known for its bone dry, elegant white Chardonnay wines, is just 1 1/2 hours southeast of Paris. The appellation is named for the charming village of Chablis, which you'll have time to visit during the day. You'll also enjoy tastings at two of Chablis' best wine estates, as well as a lovely lunch with local wines.

Loire Valley

The Loire Valley is known for both its fine wines and its historic chateaux that dot the countryside. You'll visit the most famous of the Loire chateaux, Chenonceau, home to kings and queens since the 15th century. You'll also enjoy tastings at two of its best wine estates in famous appellations like Vouvray and Chinon. A gourmet lunch with local wines rounds out an enjoyable day in the French countryside.
